A 35-year-old woman has died after she was reportedly attacked by a swarm of bees while working near a railway line in Charlo, Port Elizabeth, leaving residents shocked by the tragic incident.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the incident occurred on Wednesday morning. Police spokesperson Captain Johann Rheeder said officers and emergency responders were called to the scene after receiving reports that a woman was being attacked by bees. Sadly, paramedics confirmed she had died before they arrived.

Preliminary reports indicate that the woman was carrying out her duties near the railway tracks when the swarm suddenly attacked. A nearby security guard said she heard frantic screams and looked outside, where she allegedly saw the woman surrounded by a large number of bees.
